VIDEO: Manchester United target nets alongside Ronaldo as Portugal rout Cameroon

Fabio Coentrao and Angel Di Maria

Cristiano Ronaldo scored two goals to move him clear as Portugal's record goalscorer in 5-1 victory, with former Liverpool and Chelsea man also netting.

Portugal exploded into life in a second half that saw them put four past fellow World Cup qualifiers Cameroon.

An even first half ended 1-1, before Cristiano Ronaldo and co went up a gear to hammer the Indomitable Lions after the break, a result that saw the former Manchester United man move clear as his country's all-time leading scorer.

Ronaldo's brace came alongside further goals from former Liverpool and Chelsea man Raul Meireles, now at Fenerbache, and Real club-mate Fabio Coentrao, who has been heavily linked to both United and Tottenham.

Coentrao's goal came after an excellent overlapping run into the area, and will only increase the competition for his signature sure to reignite after the World Cup.

Whereas Ronaldo's first effort was an excellent strike, his second was a scrappy finish after a mixup in the Cameroon area.
