Dark Souls 2 PC specs list and screenshots

The confirmed PC specs are out for Dark Souls 2 along with some in game screenshots.

Namco Bandai’s next instalment in the epic action RPG series that started with Demon's Souls is due out for PC on 25th april. Console gamers are going to be getting it earlier with the European release for PS3 and Xbox 360 due 14th March.

The  PC system requirements don’t look massively demanding. Here they are:

Minimum:

  • OS: Windows XP SP3, Windows Vista SP2, Windows 7 SP1, Windows 8

  • Processor: AMD Phenom II X2 555 3.2Ghz or Intel Pentium Core 2 Duo E8500 3.17Ghz

  • Memory: 2 GB RAM

  • Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce 9600GT, ATI Radeon HD 5870

  • Hard Drive: 8 GB available space

  • Sound Card: Compatible with DirectX 9.0c or higher

Recommended:

  • OS: Windows 7 SP1

  • Processor: Intel Core i3 2100 3.10GHz or AMD A8 3870K 3.0GHz

  • Memory: 4 GB RAM

  • Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 465 or higher, ATI Radeon HD 6870 or higher

  • Hard Drive: 8 GB available space

  • Sound Card: Compatible with DirectX 9.0c or higher

Promising stuff for a game that won’t necessarily require an upgrade. The Dark Souls 2 PC press release is talking of enhanced frame rate, increased textures and better mouse/keyboard functionality than Dark Souls Prepare to Die Edition - the previous port to PC.

I'm intrigued to see how Dark Souls 2 is going to play on PC up against the consoles. The last Dark Souls title struggled a little to adapt to PC and game developers  From Software look to be upping their game this time round.
