Are sentimental reasons enough to stop £32m star joining Arsenal or Chelsea?

Atletico Madrid

Jose Sosa has piled praise onto Diego Costa, who continues to be linked with Arsenal and Chelsea.

Atletico Madrid winger Jose Sosa has spoken about what his club are trying to achieve this season and the impact high profile striker Diego Costa continues to have leading the attack.

Atletico are well placed on the La Liga table, just three points behind city rivals Real Madrid and the side progressed to the last eight of the Champions League with a big win against AC Milan.

The team is in good form and playing well but it’s Diego Costa he’s piled the praise onto, pointing to the fact the forward has got his side out of trouble on several occasions this season.

“Every time we seem to get stuck, he proves to be decisive. He always manages to create chances from nothing. I hope he can continue to do the same as if he does he's in for a fantastic career. Sometimes his game reminds me of Kun Agüero,” Sosa is quoted by Marca.

Costa has been heavily linked with moves to Arsenal and Chelsea this summer, with both clubs in positions where they could trigger his £32 million buy-out clause and go after a permanent deal.

His importance to Atletico is obvious and a cliché reason that the side would be unwilling to let him leave without a fight.

What these comments from Sosa show is a respect for the striker from his teammates because of the way he’s played out of his skin not just for the side, but also for them.

That team spirit, unity, relationship he has with his players will be one of the hardest things for Costa to leave behind if he does move to the Premier League and it’s something which could encourage him to stay at Atletico, an aspect that no side looking to buy him can control.
