Arsenal's 1-1 draw with Manchester City left Everton just four points behind the Gunners in the race for the fourth and final Champions League spot, and the Toffees took full advantage with a vital win over the relegation threatened Cottagers with a 3-1 win.
An own goal from Fulham goalkeeper David Stockdale set Everton on their way but they were pegged back by Ashkan Dejagah's strike, only for Kevin Mirallas and Steven Naismith to seal the three points - putting them now just four points behind Arsenal with a game in hand, with Arsene Wenger's side set to visit Goodison Park next weekend in a huge clash.
It's been a spectacular season for Roberto Martinez, who has improved the Toffees after replacing David Moyes in the summer, and Everton fans on Twitter were quick to praise the former Wigan boss for his impact on Merseyside, with many supporters now genuinely believing that they can overtake Arsenal and bring Champions League football back to Goodison Park.
