All the latest news and gossip from The Emirates Stadium this morning.
Arsenal fans are celebrating this morning after defeating West Ham United in the Premier League. The Gunners have moved back to fourth spot with the result - with goals from Lukas Podolski (2) and Olivier Giroud doing the trick after Matt Jarvis had given West Ham a lead in the first half.
Giroud kissed his black armband, worn in homage to the 96 fans who lost their lives in the Hillsborough disaster - and he said of the dedication:
"I heard everybody talking about it before and I didn’t exactly know the story until a few days ago but I just wanted pay homage to them. It’s something which made me feel consoling and I wanted to dedicate my goal to the families involved."
Arsene Wenger also gave some positive news on the injury front after the game.
He announced that Abou Diaby is back in full training starting Thursday although he would not be drawn on a potential comeback for the player this season.
And record signing Mesut Ozil is on his way back. The German international has been out with a hamstring injury since the Champions League second leg v Bayern Munich. But Wenger says hue will be back for the game against Hull City:
“Ozil should be available for the weekend.”
Merson, who was a pundit in the Sky Sports studio last night, said:
"For all the many years, the stadium they built, they've got through the last 10 years here by playing Champions League football, not really bringing in big-name stars. So to get through that and bring in a real marquee name, [Mesut] Ozil, from Real Madrid, one of the top teams in world football, and not to get in it this year would be a disaster.”
How important is the return of Mesut Ozil?
