'Anything is possible!' - Chelsea star Schurrle hoping for Champions League glory

Andre Schurrle, Germany National Football Team

The German international has been speaking about his time at Chelsea and hopes of Euro glory.

Chelsea could be on the verge of a very disappointing season, or indeed a very historic one.

The next five days could decide the outcome of their campaign. They face Liverpool on Sunday in a game they have to win to have any chance of winning the Premier League title. Then on Wednesday they face Atletico Madrid in the Champions League semi-final second leg - with the dream of a double still on the cards.

One player who is likely to feature at some point in both games is German international Andre Schurrle.

The forward has been a useful tool for Jose Mourinho - being used in a variety of attacking positions since signing from Bayer Leverkusen last summer.

And Schurrle has been speaking about his Champions League aspirations this term - and the previous tie against Paris Saint Germain in the quarter-finals.

Writing on his official blog, he mentions the PSG tie and his hopes for the Atletico game:

“I still cannot believe all the stuff I've been experiencing falling on my first season at Chelsea so far. The current scenario for the league season's finish could not be more thrilling and against Atlético Madrid we desperately want to move into the final of the Champions League. Anything is possible!

The return leg at home [against PSG] was simply amazing. The atmosphere at Stamford Bridge was fantastic and our fans kept pushing us for 90 minutes. It was a sensational comeback of our team and surely scoring a goal was a great feeling as well. These are the moments we train for and I'm really happy to be part of it.”

Schurrle has been a valuable member of the team in his debut campaign - and will desperately want to finish the season with a medal round his neck.

Under Roberto Di Matteo Chelsea proved that ‘anything is possible’ so under the Special One it should be a walk in the park.

And Schurrle is hoping he can be a part of it.

Will Chelsea win the Champions League this season?
