There has been plenty of speculation regarding Arsene Wenger’s future at Arsenal in recent weeks.
After another season of disappointment – bar only the club’s late FA Cup run - the stage looked set for the long-serving Gunners boss to perhaps walk away upon his contract expiry in the summer.
However, when asked about his future in an appearance on beIN Sports, the Frenchman made it abundantly clear that he is preparing to sign a new deal at the Emirates.
The interviewer asked: Will you stay or will you go at the end of the season?
Wenger, who has been the Gunners' manager since 1996, replied: "Look, I've said that many times already, I've given my word to this club and I want to continue where I am."
Then, after a long pause, he added: "That means to stay."
The Mirror’s John Cross was quick to confirm the news on his Twitter:

This certainly a headline that’ll be greeted by mixed reaction. Whilst the Frenchman has been a fantastic servant for Arsenal over the years, many of the Emirates faithful will be wishing this season as his last.
Here's the best reaction from around the Twittersphere:
@johncrossmirror A sad day to Arsenal Football Club. Another year of horrendous transfer policy and tactics.— Sugar Daddy (@Sugar_Daddy34) April 25, 2014

Is the time right for Arsene Wenger to leave Arsenal at the end of the season?
Pleased Wenger will stay?
