Jamie Dimon goes to the seaside

Bucket and spade on beach

JP Morgan CEO Jamie Dimon is used to all the glitz and glamour that his $20m salary can buy.

So The Daily Telegraph reports that it was a bit of a surprise when the head of America’s largest bank turned up in Bournemouth on Thursday.

Dimon landed at the Dorset town’s airport on a secret trip to Chaseside, the Wall Street giant’s global technology and operations centre.

He met some of the 4,000 staff and held a question and answer session, after JP Morgan announced it would spend £28.6m on revamping the 25-year-old complex.

The bank will install state-of-the-art technology to allow staff to better communicate with colleagues across Europe, the US and Asia.
