It was reported recently that Liverpool had already decided on their ‘top transfer target’ for the summer - in the form of Robert Firmino.
The 22-year-old Brazilian, reportedly valued at £12 million, has been in great form this season for TSG Hoffenheim - and Liverpool feel he fits in the Brendan Rodgers mould perfectly.
The attacking midfielder has bagged 16 goals and 11 assists in his 33 Bundesliga games this season and has been one of the top performing players in the German league this campaign.
The most recent of his goals came today, in what was the final day of the Bundesliga season.
Hoffenheim sent Eintracht Braunschweig back to 2.Bundesliga with a 3-1 victory and Firmino grabbed the second goal of the game with a sumptuous scissored volley from the edge of the box.
It is moments like that that saw Liverpool, among many, register interest in the player - and even saw Luiz Felipe Scolari check him out prior to naming his Brazilian World Cup squad.
Unfortunately it looks like he is going nowhere. He signed a new deal with the club in March taking him till 2017 with the club.
Should Liverpool test Hoffenheim and Firmino's resolve?
