The Independent reports that police sealed off an area near the Bank of England in London's financial district responding to a security alert after a car was abandoned with an open door in the middle of an interjection.

Witnesses said the driver ran into a red light blasting loud music before stopping the car at the intersection of Lombard Street and Threadneedle Street and running off. The driver has not been found.

The Telegraph reports that after using remote control devices to make sure the car was safe, bomb disposal officers moved in examine the vehicle in more detail.

The roads were later opened to traffic and workers were allowed to return to their offices, but the vehicle remained in the middle of the road.
