Thibaut Courtois has celebrated being awarded the Zamora Trophy once again.
Atletico Madrid have had a truly wonderful season. On a budget that looks like chicken feed to the other top teams in La Liga and Europe they have won the league title and made it to the final of the Champions League.
The key to their success has been a quality spine to the team. From Diego Costa back to Diego Godin they are in complete comfort throughout the middle of the park. It all starts in one position however, the goalkeeper.
Thibaut Courtois has been sensational for Atletico Madrid. The Belgian international has been at the Vicente Calderon for three seasons on loan now and this summer it looks as though Chelsea might finally believe it is time to pull him in to become a part of the Chelsea team - rather than an outsider.
He has been dubbed the best keeper in the world by some and for the second campaign in a row he is the best goalkeeper in the Spanish top flight.
Courtois has won the prestigious Zamora Trophy once again, after conceding an average of just 0.64 goals per game - a quite astonishing statistic.
He also accompanied the picture of him with this message...
I am very happy to win the Zamora Trophy for the second time! Once again I want to thank the team for helping me get it! #aupaatleti
Is Courtois better than Cech?
