Neymar on the verge of already matching Ronaldinho and Jairzinho and further cementing his global reputation.

Neymar Brazil

A hat-trick in today's penultimate friendly before the World Cup against Panama will see the Barcelona striker equal the two legends' goal tallies for Brazil.

At the age of only 22 Neymar has already netted 30 goals in 47 games for the Selecao.

And if he reaches 33 goals in tonight's match he will have scored the same number as Ronaldinho and Jairzinho, but even more impressively, it would have taken him much less times to do so.

Ronaldinho took 98 games and Jairzinho 81.

Despite Neymars extraordinary talent his greater goalscoring rate for Brazil is helped by the fact that he plays closer to goal than either Ronaldinho or Jairzinho did.

The former Barcelona and PSG player predominantly played deeper as an attacking midfielder while one of Botafogo's finest was out on the wing.

Nevertheless Neymar is continuing to realise his enormous potential and if he continues to perform for Brazil they will have an outstanding chance of winning the World Cup on home soil.

Where Messi and Ronaldo are yet to do it on the grandest stage of them all this may well be Neymar's time to and in the process outshine the pair.

In the longer term and perhaps just as importantly, Pele's record off 77 goals for Brazil is yet to be broken but Neymar could be the one to end up having something to say about that.
