'No chance' - Manchester United reportedly told their 'first choice' target is not for sale

Thomas Muller, Germany National Football Team

Thomas Muller is not for sale according to reports from Jan Aage Fjortoft.

Manchester United are attempting to rebuild their team this summer after a poor season under David Moyes saw them finish lower than ever before in the Premier League.

They have already sacked David Moyes and replaced him with serial winner and controversy bringer Louis van Gaal. The Dutch international manager has been out of club management work since leaving Bayern Munich in 2011. With that in mind he has found himself linked with approaches for several different players from his old club in this transfer window.

Toni Kroos was first, then there was Arjen Robben and now Bastian Schweinsteiger - however Thomas Muller has also been on the list.

He recently fanned the fuel on this rumour by throwing some doubt over his future this week, telling German media:

“I have now come to the point where I insist to know that I am part of the starting 11 at Bayern Munich. I have also demanded to know if the club really want to go forward with me in the next few seasons. I am no longer the type who says, ‘OK then, today I will play in this role, next match in that role. Just move me about and I will keep my mouth shut’. No, those days are gone.’’

But according to one renowned German football journalist Muller will be going absolutely nowhere. Jan Age Fjortoft, famed for his Mesut Ozil to Arsenal last summer, believes that United already approached Bayern over the possibility of signing him - and were knocked back swiftly.

Should Muller be number one target this summer?
