We take a look at three players who will be out to impress Louis van Gaal during Manchester United's US Tour starting on 26th July.

Louis van Gaal will start his reign as Manchester United manager as soon as the World Cup ends and his first task in the famous managerial hot seat will be attempting to mastermind United's victory in the International Champions Cup, which will include the likes of Liverpool, Manchester City, Real Madrid and AC Milan.

The competition will take place in 13 different venues across the country and begins on 26th July, just two weeks after the World Cup ends, with the final being played in Miami on 4th August.

Due to the short time between the World Cup final and the friendly competition starting, it should prove to be a good chance for Manchester United's talented youngsters to catch the eye of new boss Louis van Gaal.

We take a look at three high-profiled young players who could use the friendly competition as a stage to prove to Louis van Gaal that they deserve a place in the Manchester United first-team next season.

Jesse Lingard

Lingard will be the one to keep an eye on in America, especially if he replicate his form from last years pre-season tour where he was Manchester United's top goalscorer.

Although it was expected that he would have gone on to break into the Manchester United first-team last season, it wasn't to be and he spent the majority of it on-loan to Championship clubs; first Birmingham and then Brighton and Hove Albion.

He went on to win more plaudits for his performances in the Championship and although he has already proven all he can that he deserve a chance in the Manchester United side, he may have to do in once more in their pre-season tour to ensure his name in the side next season.

Wilfried Zaha

Wilfried Zaha proved to be Sir Alex Ferguson's leaving present for Manchester United and although he is very talented, he is also said to be too raw for the United first-team at the minute.

He is another player, like Lingard, that caught the eye in United's last pre-season tour and he even shone in the community shield game against Wigan days prior to the actual season kicking off. Nevertheless, he made just two sub appearances for David Moyes in the league and ended up going out on loan to Cardiff City.

WIlfried Zaha arguably has the most to prove out of all the players in the Manchester United squad and a bad start under Louis van Gaal could put the writing on the wall for Zaha with regards to his United career.

James Wilson

The 18-year-old striker remarkably put himself on the map in Manchester United's final game of the season; scoring twice within a hour of his first-team debut against Hull City.

Although the 18-year-old is primed as a star for the future, he will have a look at the impact made by Adnan Januzaj last season and hope to replicate that for Louis Van Gaal next season.

In the company of Robin van Persie, Wayne Rooney, Danny Welbeck and Javier Hernandez that could be a difficult ask, but if he has an exceptional pre-season and excels in the tour then who knows?

Who do you think will shine in the US and who would you back to play a part next season?
