Manchester City and Argentina striker Sergio Aguero, 26, was brought off the field during his nation's 3-2 edging over Nigeria at the Beira-Rio Stadium in Porto Alegre on June 25 after suffering injury.
Media reports today, Thursday, explained that the country, who have been led by exquisite attacker Lionel Messi for much of the campaign thus far, could be without Aguero for the rest of the tournament - certainly for the next round, a knockout stage clash against Switzerland on Tuesday, July 1 at the Arena Corinthians in Sao Paulo.
Aguero has sustained a muscle injury, yet this news has not surprised Manchester City supporters, who believe that is typical of the gifted forward's career and could be what separates him from becoming one of the greats of the sport, despite his obvious talent.
Since joining the Etihad Stadium side, Aguero has succombed to groin complications (x 2), knee injuries (x 3), hamstring problems (x 7) and a calf issue.
