La Liga transfer latest: Espanyol eye Chelsea winger, Almeria loan Arsenal youngster

All the latest summer transfer news from La Liga...

Having already spent loan spells in Spain with Levante, Alcoyano, Ponferradina and Real Murcia, Arsenal's Brazilian winger Wellington Silva is heading back there with Almeria. The La Liga outfit stayed up by just one point last season, and will now need the 21-year-old to help them improve this season.

Silva has yet to make a single first team appearance for Arsenal since his 2011 move from Fluminense, and has even struggled to make an impact during his loan spells. Yet Almeria will be hoping that he impresses, just like Liverpool's Suso did for them last season

Another Premier League winger who could find himself in Spain next season is Chelsea's Christian Atsu. The 22-year-old Ghanaian joined the Blues from Porto last summer, but was immediately loaned out to Dutch side Vitesse for the season in order to play first team football and continue his development.

With the likes of Eden Hazard, Oscar, WIllian, Andre Schurrle and Mohamed Salah all vying for places in Jose Mourinho's side, there still appears to be little chance of Atsu breaking into the Chelsea first team, so another loan deal could on the cards after he flashed some ability for Ghana at the World Cup in Brazil, and Espanyol are looking to bring him to La Liga.

Elsewhere in La Liga, Barcelona are reportedly still looking for attacking talent despite confirming the capture of Liverpool striker Luis Suarez on Friday. Reports suggested that they were looking to sign Napoli's former Real Madrid forward Jose Maria Callejon, and Napoli president Aurelio de Laurentiis says that they did turn down approaches from both Barca and champions Atletico Madrid.

“Barcona and Atlético Madrid have asked about him”, he said. “But he will not leave, we have no intention of selling him.”
