Harmonix release survey to gauge interest in a new Rock Band game

Rock Band 3

Following Harmonix’s announcement that Rock Band will return this generation a new survey is out to gain an idea of customer interest.

The survey can be accessed here. It asks Rock Band gamers how often they play, how regularly they purchase new songs and which instruments they own.

It goes onto ask you to rank how excited you’d be to see a new Rock Band game on 8th gen consoles, a new Rock Band game on legacy consoles, new DLC for the series, or new Rock Band Instruments.

The last main title in the Rock Band series, Rock Band 3 came along in 2010 bringing in new keyboard parts and pro guitar peripherals. A spin-off rhythm game Rock Band Blitz followed in 2012.

Since then Harmonix support for the game has dwindled with them finally stopping weekly DLC song updates in 2013.

Speaking earlier on this year Harmonix CEO Alex Rigopulos said of the Rock Band and Dance Central franchises that they, “are near and dear to our hearts and our minds and we have grand plans to bring back both of them with guns blazing at some point in the coming console cycle."

Currently Harmonix are working on the Kinect game Fantasia: Music Evolved, a Kickstarter funded revamp of the classic rhythm game Amplitude for PS3 and PS4 and the Xbox One exclusive Dance Central Spotlight
