Altered activity feed and on-the-fly purchases in next Xbox One update

Xbox One System

Microsoft have revealed a sneak peak at what Xbox One owners can expect in the updates for the console in August.

For those with early access to the system update you can expect the following features to be available to you sometime this week, for everyone else however, you’ll have to wait until August. In the video below you’ll hear Major Nelson speak to Richard Irving of the Xbox Engineering team about the new upcoming features which are also detailed on Major Nelson’s blog.

The activity feed has been changed to a longer single column list with more info and content, and the ability to ‘like’, share, and comment on the items that appear there. The feed is also accessible via SmartGlass too. Another added feature is the ability to buy games and content using SmartGlass, so if your Xbox One is set to download updates automatically you can buy something when you’re out and about and it will begin downloading to your console immediately. Check out the full video below.
