Bayern Munich rule themselves out of race for Juan Cuadrado

Colombia Lineup

In transfer news that could impact Manchester United and Barcelona, a World Cup star with Colombia is off the radar for the Bundesliga giants.

Three elite-level clubs interested in Juan Guillermo Cuadrado have been reduced to two as Bayern Munich have ruled themselves out of the running for the player's signature, according to reports.

Cuadrado, 26, is one of the most versatile players in world football as, throughout the Serie A campaign with Fiorentina last season, the number 11 competed as a left forward, centre forward, right forward, attacking midfielder, right winger, central midfielder, right-sided midfielder, right wing-back and right back.

He also lit up the World Cup tournament in Brazil with his nation Colombia where, despite playmaker James Rodriguez taking centre stage, Cuadrado still demonstrated a consistent ability to influence matches as he returned four assists, one goal, an 85% passing accuracy, attempted ten shots and created eight goal-scoring opportunities for his team-mates - all from five matches.

A report on MARCA earlier today, Tuesday, stated that: "Bayern Munich's sporting director Matthias Sammer has denied that the German side is interested in signing Barcelona transfer target Juan Guillermo Cuadrado."

It continued: "The news from Sammer will be welcomed by Barcelona, who will now have to do battle with one fewer team in the running to sign the Colombian star."

Fiorentina are allegedly keen to resolve the situation imminently and request offers of £35 million.

Would you like to see Cuadrado in United colours or do you think he'd be better off left to Barca?
