Chelsea transfer news: City to prevent Drogba return? Tiago signs new deal with Atletico

Chelsea Stadium Stamford Bridge

A round up of transfer stories this morning about Chelsea.

The Daily Star claims Manchester City are interested in signing Didier Drogba.

Drogba has been tipped to sign a one-year deal and return to Chelsea with a coaching role added on top.

However, the Star suggests City could go after him due to the recent injury to Alvaro Negredo.

Atletico Madrid midfielder Tiago has signed a new contract with the Spanish club.

The former Chelsea star had been linked with a return to Stamford Bridge but he won’t be joining his ex-teammates in London.

Thibaut Courtois has returned from a loan deal while Diego Costa and Filipe Luis has both signed long term deals with the Blues.

Chelsea have been offered hope of signing reported target Antoine Griezmann from Real Sociedad.

London rivals Spurs have seen a £15 million offer for the Frenchman turned down.

Sociedad are reportedly unwilling to accept anything less than the £25 million buy-out clause in his contract.
