Serge Gnabry played 14 matches for Arsenal last season but following the arrival of Alexis Sanchez from Barcelona his chances regular spot in the team look very slim. However the talented midfielder still has a bright future in front of him and a chance to develop in the Premier League could be exactly what he needs.
That chance may come with Newcastle United who have already had a very busy summer in the transfer market but aren't finished yet. The Daily Mail reports that Alan Pardew is looking to bring in Serge Gnabry on a loan deal. The 19-year-old is highly regarded by the Arsenal management but Pardew obviously thinks he may be able to prise away the German youth international for a season.
The Magpies have already strengthened their attacking options with the signings of Siem De Jong, Remy Cabella, and Emmanuel Riviere but with goals hard to come by last season, Pardew is still looking for reinforcements. Hatem Ben Arfa fell out favour last season and could well be moved on, and with Loic Remy and Shola Ameobi having already departed, Newcastle are set for a completely new frontline for the new season.
As well as Sanchez, Gnabry has Theo Walcott, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Lukas Podolski, Mezut Ozil and Joel Campbell to deal with. If he was guaranteed regular football at St James' Park then the move would be benficial for all parties involved.
Would you be happy if Newcastle United signed Serge Gnabry?
