System transfer now available with Wii U update 5.1.0.

Going live today a new Wii U feature will be implemented that allows you to transfer data between Wii U consoles.

Nintendo have released system update 5.1.0 for Wii U bringing in a new system transfer feature.

Historically a one-time transfer between Wii and Wii U was available. Now with the latest system update you’ll be able to transfer data between Wii Us.

To perform a transfer both Wii Us involved must have the latest update installed. Once down the source Wii U will be formatted. For a FAQ on the System transfer system hit this link.

Update 5.1.0 will also add the ability for users to access the eShop using a Wii Remote, Wii U Pro Controller, or a Classic Controller.

Beyond this, “further improvements to overall system stability and other minor adjustments have been made to enhance the user experience.”
