AC Milan are still keen on snapping up Joel Campbell.
Joel Campbell will link up with Arsenal in time for their Emirates Cup this pre-season, but there is yet no guarantee he will remain at The Emirates.
If Arsene Wenger cannot promise him he will be a regular starter, and the forward attracts offers from elsewhere, the possibility of a departure will grow as deadline day approaches.
SkyItalia report that Milan have identified Campbell, along with Mexican striker Giovanni dos Santos, as one of two players they want to strengthen their attack.
The outlet report that the Costa Rican is a top target for manager Filipo Inzaghi, but does not discuss whether their interest will soon materialise into a bid.
Milan's interest in Campbell first materialised during the World Cup, when he was suggested as part of a loan/swap deal for Mario Balotelli.
Despite the Italians being open to letting the striker go, Arsenal's tentative interest in Balotelli appears to have subsided or dwindled altogether.
This means Milan will have to hope anxiously that Campbell suffers a disappointing pre-season, and Arsenal can be convinced to move him on. Striking lucky on a loan agreement however may be their best bet.
