Frankfurt 'hope' to announce signing of Piazon from Chelsea 'soon'

Eintracht Frankfurt

Eintracht Frankfurt are confident of snapping up Lucas Piazon from Chelsea on loan very soon.

Chelsea have certainly built up a reputation in recent years for sending some of their young players out on loan to gain further experience. Romelu Lukaku, Thibaut Courtois, Ryan Bertrand etc. Last season they had plenty of names out on loan again with Josh McEachran, Nathaniel Chalobah and Kenneth Omeruo among the list. This season that trend does not look like changing.

Chelsea have already loaned out Tomas Kalas, Wallace, Cristian Cuevas, Thorgan Hazard, Bertrand Traore, Omeruo and new signing Mario Pasalic to teams from Germany, Holland, Chile, England and Spain this summer - now it seems another hot young talent could follow.

Lucas Piazon is undoubtedly one of Chelsea's more talented youngsters. Dubbed the 'next Kaka' he spent last campaign at Vitesse Arnhem. At the Gelredome he had a mixed season. At one point he looked set to win plenty of awards at the club - he even scored plenty of goals, including a spell of six goals in five games throughout November and December.

But the second half of his season was poor. As Vitesse plummeted out of title contention Piazon was left on the sidelines. He did not score in 2014 and his loan spell was cut short a week early.

With that in mind it is clear that Piazon, for all of his talent, is not yet the finished article. The 20-year-old is therefore set to be loaned out again.

Now he would appear to have a suitor in the form of German Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt. The club are believed to be interested in a loan deal, with Frankfurt director Bruno Hubner reportedly stating:

"We hope that we will soon announce the transfer of Lucas Piazon, Lucas Piazon would help us."

For Piazon it would be an important loan deal. Not only would it give him the chance to prove he can hack it in a big league like the Bundesliga - but a good full season will show he is physically maturing enough to cope with the rigours of first-team football.

Will the Bundesliga suit Piazon's style?
