Three young talents who could follow Eisfeld out of Arsenal

A look at which young players could follow Thomas Eisfeld out of Arsenal.

Thomas Eisfeld departing Arsenal for Fulham was, on the face of it, a surprise move.

Yet when considering he was yet to play a Premier League game in two-and-a-half seasons at the club, the young German can hardly be blamed for wanting to switch to a club where he would have a better chance of playing football.

A look around Arsenal's squad suggests he may not be the only player in the same situation. Here are three who could follow him in leaving the club.

Ryo Miyaichi

Japanese attacker Ryo Miyaichi is a long way away from his exciting season on loan at Feyenoord back in 2011. Since then a variety of loans in England have failed to work out, with the 21-year-old struggling with injuries. Last season his performances for the under-21 side were disappointing, and his chances of regular football this season look slim already. A fresh start would be a wise move all round.

Benik Afobe

Afobe was once Arsenal's most exciting striking prospect, but not even a goal against Boreham Wood could convince Arsene Wenger to pick him ahead of Chuba Akpom for the New York tour, a player three years his junior. The forward disappointed on loan at Sheffield Wednesday last season, suggesting he is a way off the level Arsenal require, with Yaya Sanogo another obstacle in his path. Like Miyaichi, this summer should be the time to move on.

Ignasi Miquel

Spanish defender Ignasi Miquel is surely in the last chance saloon for Arsenal, and has been taken to New York. Going up against even a 36-year-old Thierry Henry at the weekend, could be the final nail in the coffin for the 21-year-old's Arsenal career. The Spaniard was poor on loan at Leicester last season, barely playing for the promoted side, and has not shown in his time with the Gunners he is capable of being counted upon as a reliable defensive option. Now is a great time to start, but if he fails to do so, Wenger may move him on and bring in a new centre-back.

Do any of Miyaichi, Afobe, or Miquel have futures at Arsenal?
