EA are offering up the second game in the series of the popular life sim for free until the end of the month.
With the news last week that EA are bringing support for The Sims 2 to a close, they offered up a deal that would hopefully appease players – EA said, “everyone who had a digital copy of The Sims 2 will find the Ultimate Collection in their library within the next 5 days.”
Due to some users having issues redeeming their copy of The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection, EA has now made the game free to all Origin users. To claim your free copy just login to your Origin account, or sign up for one if you don’t already have one, and get in before the expiration date of 31st July 2014.
The Ultimate Collection includes all eight expansions and all nine stuff packs for the game, so that’s a lot of free content. Some of the expansions include University, Pets, Seasons, and Nightlife, with the stuff packs adding extra furniture centred around specific themes.
If you’re wanting something to keep you occupied until The Sims 4 launches on 2nd September, The Sims 2 could well be it. Head on over to EA’s official website for details on how to redeem your copy of the game.
The sad news of no support for The Sims 2 is followed by good news that the game is free for everyone – swings and roundabouts eh. Have you picked up your free copy?
