Romelu Lukaku and Jan Vertonghen Belgium

A select round-up of the latest news relating to Chelsea

Liverpool are not interested in signing Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku according to the Express.

The report comes the day after Loic Remy’s proposed move to the Reds fell through when the player allegedly failed his medical.

Lukaku’s future remains in some doubt and he would be an excellent addition to Liverpool’s squad. However, it is being claimed Brendan Rodgers will not target either the Belgian international or Wilfried Bony of Swansea City.

In other news, Chelsea forward Patrick Bamford could be on his way to Championship side Middlesbrough, with the Northern Echo reporting that a deal is close.

The 20-year-old enjoyed an impressive spell on loan at Derby County last season having previously shone for MK Dons. But it now looks like it will be another Championship side who benefit from the striker’s eye for goal.

The young forward will be hoping to continue his excellent scoring form as he seeks to earn a place in Jose Mourinho's future plans.

Would you like to see Bamford given a chance in the Premier League on loan?
