All the latest summer transfer news from Serie A...

AC Milan are busy trying to strengthen their squad under new manager Pippo Inzaghi, having finished in a disappointing eighth place last season. Paris Saint-Germain duo Alex and Jeremy Menez have already joined the club, whilst Chievo goalkeeper Michael Agazzi arrived as a backup to Christian Abbiati.

Having missed out on Juan Iturbe and Antoine Griezmann, Inzaghi is still looking for a winger - which has brought him to Nani. The Portuguese international, 27, is little more than a bit-part figure at Manchester United, and with the Red Devils strongly pursuing Fiorentina's Juan Cuadrado, Nani is almost certainly available - with Milan reportedly looking to make a bid.

Elsewhere, Lazio's search for a centre back took a hit last week, as city rivals Roma beat them to the signing of Cagliari defender Davide Astori. However, Stefano Pioli finally looks set to land a centre half with Feyenoord's Stefan de Vrij - recently linked with Manchester United - arriving in Rome to finalise a deal.

"Stefan De Vrij will arrive tonight at Fiumicino airport and tomorrow morning at 8am will undergo his medical at the Paideia clinic," said director of communications Stefano De Martino. "We welcome with joy the best defender at the World Cup. He is an international-level signing."

Finally, Cagliari look set to bounce back from loss of Astori with the signing of a new goalkeeper. Vlada Avramov left the club for Torino earlier this summer, leaving them with a hole to fill between the sticks - and their desired target is a familiar face to many fans in England.

Spaniard Manuel Almunia, formerly of Arsenal and Watford, is rumoured to be on the verge of joining Zdenek Zeman's side, even though the club reportedly tried to sign QPR's Julio Cesar and Mexican international Guillermo Ochoa.
