We bring you the latest news from Celtic, Rangers, Dundee United and Hibernian.
1) Celtic’s Champions League fate will decide Forster future
Celtic are waiting to find out their fate in the Champions League before deciding whether or not to allow Fraser Forster to complete a move to Southampton.
Saints have lost a number of major stars this summer and are now on the recruitment drive, with Forster one of their top targets.
The Premier League outfit made a £3.5 million offer for the England international keeper, which was turned down this week, but they are expected to make a repeat offer in the near future.
Whether this will be accepted or not largely relies on the future of the Bhoys in Europe’s elite competition.
The Scottish Premiership side take on Legia Warsaw in the third qualifying stage of the competition on Wednesday, with the second leg on August 6th and if they exit it may mean that Forster departs the club.
2) Jo Inge Berget joins Celtic
Cardiff City forward Jo Inge Berget has joined Celtic on loan until January, with a clause in the deal which allows the Bhoys to make the transfer permanent if he impresses.
The attacker has only spent seven months at Cardiff, but his future at the Championship side already looks decided and he was delighted to have been offered a reprieve by the Scottish champions.
"I know what a magnificent club Celtic is and what the club means to the supporters - it is a real privilege to be here," he said upon signing.
3) Lee McCulloch backs Rangers’ strikers
Lee McCulloch has said that Rangers’ faltering strike-force will be on top form when the season starts properly.
Kenny Miller and Kris Boyd both failed to find the net during the club’s pre-season tour of America, but McCulloch isn’t worried by their lack of form.
"It isn't even a concern with Kenny and big Boydy. There is no concern about goals,” he said.
"I can guarantee that when the season starts it will be raining goals by those two.
"It is just getting the rest of the team sorted and settled and getting the new players in and getting them involved and getting a bit of momentum going."
4) Fenerbahce want Nadir Ciftci
Turkish giants Fenerbahce are hoping to do a deal to sign Dundee United striker Nadir Ciftci this summer.
The 22-year-old has established himself as one of his current side’s key players, but they may be tempted by the cash that Fernerbahce can offer.
The Turkish side are reportedly lining up a bid of around €1 million in the hope of landing their transfer target.
5) Scott Robertson backs Scott Allan to show his class
Scott Robertson believes that Hibernian are the perfect fit for new signing Scott Allan.
Allan joined the club this week, signing a two-year-deal, and Robertson thinks that he can revive his career at Easter Road after seeing it stagnate in England.
“Scott has undoubted quality and maybe he’s not been nurtured down south as much as he could have been up here,” he said.
“With the set-up we’ve got here, with the manager and the coaching staff, they are all about coaching.
“I’m 29 now and there’s things they’re saying to me – just little coaching points and good habits – and they are drumming them into you.
“It’s really encouraging and refreshing for me to experience that."
Can Allan find his feet at Hibs? Do Rangers have enough quality up-front?
