VIDEO: Fluid attacking football returning for Manchester United

Manchester United 3

United played some very attractive football during their pre-season friendly against Inter Milan on Wednesday.

Manchester United's performance against Inter Milan suggests Louis van Gaal's philosophy of playing free-flowing attractive, attacking football might already be paying off for the Red Devils.

The short clip above shows a brilliant piece of one-touch football between United's midfield and attack, with Wayne Rooney eventually sending Juan Mata through down the right, but his cross is then cleared by an Inter defender.

Despite needing a penalty shootout to win the friendly which finished 0-0 in normal time, United looked a different team from the one who played under David Moyes last season.

High pressing, incisive passing and possession football were all on display as United dominated much of the 90-minute friendly.

United fans should be very encouraged to see their side playing exciting and inventive football, rather than the "cross and hope" strategy that we was deployed under Moyes for much of last season.

Can United become a force to be reckoned with under van Gaal's passing philosophy?
