Solanke said he learned by watching the likes of Costa, Torres and Drogba on the TV, now he has been learning from them on a training camp.

Chelsea youngster Dominic Solanke has been talking about how he can learn from the senior players from the Blues squad during their training camp in Europe, especially the kind of players he looks up to in the position he plays.

The 16-year-old forward, who is the youngest member of the squad, has told the Chelsea website it has been a fantastic experience learning from the more high profile members of the squad, and spoke about the help and advice that manager Jose Mouinrho is giving him.

He said: "It’s been a really good experience playing with older players and getting to know men’s football. Now some of the players who played in the World Cup are here, people that I look up to like Torres, Costa and Drogba.

"I learned from watching them on TV and now here I can learn from them every day because I am actually playing with them. I am always picking up little tips so it’s an amazing chance for me to improve.

"The boss has been really supportive. He has tried to help me where he can and tried to improve my game. He’s just helped me through it all really and given me support."

Solanke has represented the Blues at under-18 level but has also had opportunity to play at both under-21 level and in the UEFA Youth league last season.

Being around the squad and learning from players who have been both prolific in front of goal and have played their part in winning major honours is bound to help the young Englishman.

Whether or not he has the talent or mentality to go all the way to the top remains to be seen but one would think his participation in this particular training camp will have benefited him hugely.

Will Solanke get a first team opportunity in the near future?
