Stan Collymore delivers Sami Khedira news for Arsenal fans

Sami Khedira

Real Madrid star's prospective transfer to Premier League club Arsenal remains on, according to football pundit.

Former striker turned football pundit Stan Collymore, 43, has informed his 644,000 Twitter followers that, regardless of reports indicating that Arsenal have moved on from their previous ambition of signing World Cup winner Sami Khedira, the Real Madrid midfielder's prospective transfer "is still 100% on".

A report on MARCA earlier today, Wednesday, indicated that Bayern Munich may well have the upper hand in any anticipated Khedira switch as "the Bavarian club got in contact to talk about a move in 2015, when Khedira's contract with Real runs out."

Bayern preferred Khedira on a free transfer next year so that they could offer contractual terms that were even more financially beneficial for the player, having effectively saved on a transfer fee this summer.

The same report even noted that the 27-year-old "had offers coming in from England" but did not specify if one of them was from Arsenal.

A move from anywhere between £20 million and £25 million has long been mooted and reports in Spain last week even implied that personal terms were "just hours from being agreed".

Complications have obviously arisen since then, yet Collymore appears adamant that the Gunners remain in pole position for the coveted defensive-minded athlete's signature.
