Plenty of signings was always going to bring its challenges when it comes to integration
Brendan Rodgers has been talking about the integration of his new signings so far this summer having recruited six players with the promise of more to come.
Rickie Lambert, Adam Lallana, Emre Can, Lazar Markovic, Dejan Lovren and Divock Origi have signed for the Reds this summer, though Origi will spend the coming season on loan at Lille as part of the deal.
But Rodgers has described their 'transition' as 'smooth' - though Lovren has been unable to join up with the squad on their tour of the USA because of problems with the Croatian's visa.
The Liverpool boss is quoted by the club's official website, saying: "We've brought in specific players for specific roles, players that have the profile of how we work. It's going to take a little bit more time than normal in terms of their induction.
"But for a lot of the players that have come in, the transition has been very smooth - they are good characters with good personality and fit the criteria that we want in terms of the model of our game.
"That should make the adjustment that bit easier. Of course some of them are young and coming to a different country, like Emre Can. That will take a little bit of time."
There have been some hiccups along the way. Lallana has spent time with the squad but has suffered an injury setback that is likely to keep him out of the side at the start of the season.
However, the cluster of players from Southampton may help to a degree because they know each other very well - whilst two of the three signings from the Saints will know much of the Liverpool team because of the time they spent together representing England.
But the foreign contingent have arrived at the club pretty early and have got time to know their new team-mates, and the likes of Can and Markovic so far have shown one or two glimpses during pre-season to show they're astute signings and settling in well.
Integrating so many players into the squad whilst reshaping the side was always going to be a challenge, but for now the Liverpool boss seems pretty relaxed.
Do you think Liverpool's signings have settled quickly?
