Reported Chelsea target Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has confirmed that he will not be leaving Borussia Dortmund this summer.
Aubameyang only joined Dortmund last season, but after an impressive first campaign in Germany his future has already been speculated about and it seemed that Chelsea could be one of the potential suitors for the rapid attacker.
Newcastle United and Roma were also linked with being interested in securing a deal for the 25-year-old, but the trio will all be left disappointed after he confirmed he was set to stay with the Bundesliga runners-up.
“I am under contract with Borussia Dortmund until June 2018,” he said.
“I never wanted to leave and I am not out to leave the club.
“There has been no-one trying to lure me away from Dortmund. That’s a fact.
“I have heard all of the rumours, the interest from Italy and so on.
“Honestly, that is of no interest to me.”
Aubameyang was linked with a move away from Dortmund after the club completed the signing of Ciro Immobile this summer, meaning his chances to play up-front this year look limited.
Last season he had a one in two strike-rate over 26 appearances for BVB, but he was part of a rotation policy and wasn’t able to nail down a regular starting spot in the team.
As such, it was thought that the club and player could be tempted to part ways, but those rumours have been quashed now.
Chelsea are thought to be on the hunt for a striker after losing Romelu Lukaku to Everton for £28 million this week and Aubameyang was reportedly one of Jose Mourinho’s top targets.
He felt that the Frenchman had all the attributes to be a success in the Premier League and that his combination of pace and power would be a threat to defences across England, but those hopes have been dashed.

It means that the Blues' striker hunt will continue, with only the faltering Fernando Torres and ageing Didier Drogba available to offer cover to new signing Diego Costa.
Also linked are the likes of Edinson Cavani and Falcao, but whether or not Chelsea will step up their interest into concrete offers remains to be seen.
