Dragon Age: Origins had awesome tactical combat, Dragon Age 2 had… combat. Thankfully with Dragon Age: Inquisition it looks like we’ll be getting that great tactical combat back from the first game, plus a mix of the second game’s real-time action.
In the video from Bioware below you’ll hear one of the devs talk us through the ‘flexible, multi-faceted combat systems’ of the new game. Every encounter can be approached differently, whether you want to get stuck in at the front of the action with third-person real-time combat, or if you’re a more strategic player, take a thought-out approach by pausing the action and weighing up your options.
We’re also shown the tactical option in more depth – checking enemies’ stats, setting up attacks with your party, and using the camera to get a better view of the battlefield.
Dragon Age: Inquisition is due for release on 18th November in the US, and 21st November in Europe, for 2014 for PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One and PC.
Dragon Age: Inquisition’s combat is looking great. Which type of combat will you prefer, real-time or strategic?
