Report: Evra pushing Juventus towards Nani

Nani

Juventus new boy Patrice Evra has reportedly urged the Italian club to move for former Manchester United teammate Nani.

Juventus are looking for further offensive reinforcement before the season starts and new recruit Patrice Evra may have recommended Nani.

Evra signed for the Italian side after a complicated summer that saw the French defender agree a new contract at Manchester United before forcing through a transfer.

Having only just completed medical tests and joined his new teammates, reports in Italy suggest that Evra is already asking for the signature of Nani, who has been on the Juventus radar for several months.

Evra was happy to vouch for Nani in his first press conference when quizzed by journalists.

"He is a great player and it was a privilege for me to play with Nani," he said.

"If Juventus are interested in him, I can only say that Nani would be a great purchase."

Juventus are predominantly focused on bringing in another striker, having seen £15.8 million signing Alvaro Morata injure his knee in his first training session with the club.

The Old Lady are apparently most interested in Paris Saint Germain star Ezequiel Lavezzi, but he could be a difficult target.

Manchester United winger Nani is an alternative who may be available relatively cheaply, but provides less versatility.

According to Tuttosport, Evra is passionately pushing for Juventus sporting director Beppe Marotta to give Manchester United a call for Nani.

That looks increasingly likely to happen because Lavezzi may be too expensive and is also reportedly being targeted by other clubs, including Liverpool.

Is it time for Nani to leave Manchester United?
