All the latest transfer news from The Emirates this morning.
Yesterday saw Arsene Wenger admit that the club were not yet done regarding their transfer business, with many suggesting the club are still after a tough tackling midfielder to finally replace Alex Song.
Sami Khedira has been mentioned as a possible option, while the club are also believed to be keen on Sporting Lisbon midfielder William Carvalho.
Now it is being reported the club are preparing a bid for the talented 22-year-old.
Carvalho has a £37 million release clause but it is believed Sporting are now willing to go down in their valuation of the player - in order to facilitate a move for the Portugal international.
It was previously reported this summer that Manchester United had agreed to sign the player, but Louis van Gaal is not as big a fan as David Moyes was.
Campbell, who has been on loan at Lorient, Real Betis and Olympiakos for the past three seasons, starred at this summer's World Cup in Brazil - and is now available to play in the UK after receiving a Work Permit.
"Yes, I want him for our team. But Arsene Wenger wants to keep him in the squad this season and benefit from him. Nothing's happening at the moment. Wenger won't allow this transfer."
Manchester United are now putting a bid together for Arsenal captain Thomas Vermaelen - after Wenger admitted yesterday that the club could sell the player.
Vermaelen has permission to discuss a move away from The Emirates, with Wenger stating he understands the player's desire for regular football.
Vermaelen is no longer first choice at The Emirates as he is behind Laurent Koscielny and Per Mertesacker in the pecking order.
Barcelona are also keen.
