With recent reports once again linking Paris Saint-Germain to Chelsea's Petr Cech, it is likely to be Spurs breathing a sigh of relief as their own clear number one looks sure to be staying at the club.
Cech of course featured in Ligue 1 prior to his move to Stamford Bridge, proving himself as one of the most promising goalkeepers around while at Rennes.
Now Thibaut Courtois is the young pretender, and has already proved at the very highest level that he is one of the best around.
Their have been hints from Jose Mourinho that Cech may have to end up playing second fiddle to the young Belgian, though naturally the Portuguese manager would prefer to keep both players at the club and in form to ensure there is superb coverage in multiple positions.
But goalkeeper is the one spot that it is hard to rotate, given that it is highly irregular to bring players on from the bench. Whether Cech would be happy featuring only in cup competitions, it is hard to say, but if PSG come in offering a bumper contract with a promise that he'll be number one, it may be difficult for the Czech goalkeeper to turn down.
Tottenham themselves signed Michel Vorm this summer, but only after Lloris signed a new five-year contract at the club.
The former Lyon man impressed during the World Cup in Brazil this summer, once again showing that he is one of the best goalkeepers in Europe. Spurs would be very much against entertaining the idea of his sale, even if a mega bid was made for the 27-year-old.
There had also been murmurs that the French captain was another on the radar of the big Ligue 1 spenders PSG and Monaco, but though one could argue that Lloris could be interested in heading back to his home country for big money and for Champions League football, he would likely cost more than Cech, and is happier at the club as the first choice.
Who do you think PSG are likely to sign?
