CONFIRMED: Arsenal line-up v Monaco - Alexis Sanchez starts, no Sanogo

Arsenal Emirates 2

Here is how Arsenal will line up for their match against Monaco this afternoon.

Arsenal starting XI: Szczesny, Debuchy, Koscielny, Chambers, Monreal, Wilshere, Arteta, Alexis, Ramsey, Cazorla, Giroud

Subs: Martinez, Miquel, Hayden, Bellerin, Coquelin, Flamini, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Zelalem, Akpom

Arsenal kicked off their Emirates Cup campaign with an impressive 5-1 victory over Benfica on Saturday.

Yaya Sanogo starred as his four goals fired him firmly into contention for more chances next season. While another young forward, Joel Campbell, netted Arsenal’s other goal.

Prior to the match, all the talk was about Arsenal’s new faces, most notably Alexis Sanchez, but despite a second half substitute appearance from the Chilean, it was Sanogo who stole both the show and the headlines.

And just 24 hours later, Arsenal’s players will be hoping to do it all again as they face Monaco in their second match in the Emirates Cup.

The French side played out a 2-2 draw with Valencia in Saturday’s early kick-off, and having seen what the Gunners did later that same day, they are likely to be wary of a repeat performance.
