United reportedly offer duo to Juventus in the hope of signing Vidal

Arturo Vidal

Manchester United reportedly hope to tempt Juventus to sell Vidal by offering them Javier Hernandez or Nani.

Manchester United are prepared to offer Javier Hernandez or Nani to Juventus as part of the deal to sign Arturo Vidal, according to reports in Italy.

Juve have been interested in signing the United duo previously this summer and Louis van Gaal allegedly hopes that by offering them a player they are keen on and a sizable fee it will tempt them to part of Vidal.

The dynamic Chilean midfielder has been on United’s wishlist all summer, but no compromise has yet been made between the two sides over his fee and, as such, his future remains uncertain.

Juve are understood to be desperate to keep hold of Vidal – who they see as key to their chances for the upcoming season – but United are also said to be intent on securing one of their top summer targets during this transfer window.

They reportedly hope that by allowing the Italian champions to pick which one out of Nani or Hernandez they want will encourage them to relinquish their prized asset.

Hernandez has also been linked with a move to Southampton, who are aiming to add to a squad which has been raided by many of England’s top clubs. But it seems that Saints may have to wait to find out Juve’s decision as to whether they want him or the jinking Portuguese winger.

Vidal was a mainstay in Juve’s starting line-up last season and has established a reputation as one of the best players in his position in the world.

The central-midfielder, therefore, was targeted as a man who could push United back up to the top level and allow them to get back into title contention after a dismal campaign last season as Van Gaal looks to add to his United squad.

They have already been busy in the window – adding big-money players Luke Shaw and Ander Herrara to their side, but their spending does not appear to be showing any signs of slowing down with the club seemingly determined to land more big names stars before the season starts.
