Leeds fans gush over new signings after impressive win vs Dundee United

Elland Road Revie Stand

Leeds United fans lauded the performances of Tommaso Bianchi and Souleymane Doukara after their impressive 2-0 over Dundee United.

Leeds United supporters were given a huge confidence boost for the new season on Saturday as they watched a strong looking Dundee United side put to the sword by Dave Hockaday's men.

It didn't take long for Leeds to assert their dominance over the Scottish Premier League side as their possession-approach quickly paid off. After just three minutes, experienced midfielder Michael Tonge was able to fashion a well-weighted cross deep into the Dundee United box which was turned in by back-in-favour striker Steve Morison.

Leeds United remained dominant for the majority of the game and had the majority of chances, possession and fortune but had to be patient for their second goal which was netted deep into the second half; 83 minutes after their first.

The pacy Dominic Poleon showed good awareness and movement to latch onto a loose ball, round Dundee United keeper Cierzniak and finally place the ball into the empty net.

After the game, Leeds fans were rightfully excited by their side's performance and a number of individuals were praised for their part in the win, but none more so than new signings Tommaso Bianchi and Souleymane Doukara.

Bianchi, who was praised for his performance against Swindon earlier in the week, was dubbed as Pirlo due to his remarkable vision and technique in the pass. Whereas Doukara, a renowned powerful striker, was lauded for his intelligent movement and awareness in attack.

Both players, who still have it all to prove in the Championship despite a good pre-season, will be keen to show they're capable of playing at the top end of the division and the test away at Millwall could be the perfect stage for them to do just that.

Millwall, who have significantly strengthened this summer, are also looking to improve on last season and will be equally keen to start life in the Championship with maximum points. Hockaday, however, will be hoping that his unknown duo will be able to swing the tie in Leeds' favour.

Do you think Bianchi and Doukara can be the difference for Leeds this season?
