Previously, Brendan Rodgers' side had beaten Olympiakos, Manchester City and AC Milan to win their group and will now face arch rivals Manchester United.
Sakho and Mignolet were overwhelmed by the support and will no doubt hope Liverpool can go a step further in the pre-season tournament, perfecting their preparations ahead of the new campaign.
Interestingly, though, neither player is fully guaranteed a first-team place in the side this term.
Following the arrival of Southampton's Dejan Lovren, Frenchman Sakho now has to fight it out with the Croatian, Martin Skrtel and potentially Kolo Toure, Daniel Agger, Sebastian Coates and Tiago Ilori for a centre-back slot.
And goalkeeper Mignolet is in a similar position, with Pepe Reina's future still unresolved. The 31-year-old Spaniard looks as though he could challenge Mignolet for the no.1 spot at Anfield, although other suitors reportedly remain interested in retaining his services.
Between them, Sakho and Belgium's Mignolet registered 56 Premier League appearances last term - the shot stopper appearing in all 38 of Liverpool's league games.
With increased competition, that number may well fall this term, although the Reds will also have added game time from the Champions League.
First, however, the duo will look to see a so-far successful ICC tournament out with Rodgers' side. United await.
How much will Sakho and Mignolet feature this season?
