Arsenal star Joel Campbell has thanked Falcao for giving him his shirt after The Emirates Cup.

Joel Campbell had a weekend to remember, playing for Arsenal for the first time and scoring his first goal for the Gunners.

That came in an impressive 5-1 win over Benfica, and while he was rested for the 1-0 loss to Monaco the next day, he came away with a souvenir from a key member of the Ligue 1 side.

Campbell revealed on his Twitter page that he came away from the weekend with a shirt given to him by Radamel Falcao, who hit the winner against the Gunners in their match.

It was not the shirt from the game against Arsenal, for Monaco wore their away strip in the win, but the gesture remains all the same.

Falcao is rated at £60 million has has drawn admiring glances from Real Madrid and Chelsea in recent seasons. His personal sponsorship with Puma, could also eventually throw Arsenal into the ring.

This season he says he is focused on Monaco, and needs to bounce back from his serious knee injury which caused him to miss the end of last season and Colombia's World Cup.

Campbell will aim this season to show he is the type of forward, or can be the man, that the Gunners do not need to chase a striker of the calibre of Falcao. If he does arrive one day, it's unlikely he would mind playing alongside a player he clearly idolises.

Should Arsenal break the bank to replace Giroud with Falcao?
