The Hobbit: The Desolation Of Smaug extended cut to add 25 minutes

Warner Bros have officially announced the extended DVD and Blu-ray of The Hobbit: The Desolation Of Smaug, we have the details.

Twenty five minutes of extra footage is to be included in the extended DVD and Blu-ray editions of The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug, Physical copies are due to land in the UK on 3rd November with a digital HD version available from late October.

The disc sets will include a total of 5 discs.

As is common with Lord of the Rings editions, there will also be nine hours of special features included. Peter Jackson and Philippa Boyens will be voicing a commentary track and follow-ons to the documentaries initiated with An Unexpected Journey are also to be included.

The concluding Hobbit movie, The Battle of The Five Armies is set to hit theatres from 12th December in the UK. There has been a tease of a definitive six film Middle Earth box-set comprising of The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit trilogies, although there’s plenty to be getting on with in the second part of The Hobbit for now.
