In one of the more sensational transfers of the current window Chelsea legend Frank Lampard has decided to spend the first half of the upcoming season with perhaps their biggest title rivals - as he joins Manchester City on loan.
Lampard recently signed for Manchester City owned New York City FC and has therefore been loaned to the Premier League side to keep in shape ahead of their first MLS season - which starts in March 2014.
Chelsea fans are obviously a little disappointed that their club legend and record goal-scorer will be helping their biggest title rivals for the majority of next season.
Lampard, who will wear the number 18 shirt last worn by Gareth Barry at the Etihad, is now all set to try and prevent Chelsea winning the league title and keeping the trophy in Manchester.
Lampard, who described the move as a 'fantastic opportunity' earlier today is and always will be considered a legend by Chelsea fans - regardless of his latest career move.
But the pictures released today will still leave a sour taste in the mouth, as Chelsea boy Frank Lampard, pulls on light blue instead of royal.
Can Lampard be a hit at The Etihad?
