Spaniard managed the club for four seasons before joining Bayern Munich, winning multiple trophies.
Guardiola managed the Catalans between 2008-2012, winning multiple La Liga titles and two Champions League along the way.
He then took a year out from the game after surrendering the league to fierce rivals Real Madrid, before joining Bayern Munich at the beginning of last season.
Munich comfortable won the Bundesliga as well as the German Cup, but it was Real Madrid again who scuppered his hopes of a treble, this time in the Champions League.
Although the end of Barcelona’s dominance signalled the end for Guardiola in 2012, club president Bartomeu believes he will return to the club in the future.
"Those who have Barca in their hearts come back to help the club. I see a lot of people who will be at Barca in the future,” He is reported as saying on Bleacher Report.
“In 2022, many of the players who are here now, or others currently at other clubs, will come back to Barça as coaches, directors of football or even presidents because at the end of the day, we are all like one big family.”
Guardiola also played for the Spanish giants for eleven seasons between 1990-2001, before coming back to manage in 2008.
Despite his exit from the club, the Barcelona side he created in his four seasons at the Nou Camp was arguably the greatest side ever to play the game.
A white-hot Lionel Messi, Andres Iniesta and Xavi in that period made for a near unbeatable Barcelona side, who romped to several pieces of silverware, including two Champions League titles in three seasons.
Will Pep Guardiola return to manage at Barcelona in the future?
