Promising Liverpool youngster heads to Swindon on loan

Swindon Town

Liverpool's Brad Smith is set to get some first team football under his belt after joining the League One club.

Liverpool have announced that their 20-year-old fullback Brad Smith is to leave Anfield on a youth loan to League One side Swindon Town.

Smith made his Premier League debut last season in the crunch game with Chelsea in December, having been on the bench against Manchester City a few days earlier.

Despite the Reds losing the match 2-1, the youngster impressed, setting him out as a player for Liverpool fans to keep an eye on.

With Brendan Rodgers strengthening several areas of his defence this summer, it was always likely to be hard for Smith to get more game time, so he has gone out on loan to the County Ground ahead of the new season.
