Family favourite board games to get their own dedicated digital service

Ubisoft are joining forces with board game giants Hasbro to bring popular board games to the PS4 and Xbox One.

The Hasbro Game Channel will be available to download in the autumn bringing with it Monopoly, Risk and Trivial Pursuit, both in their original forms and with extra gaming options added.

“With the Hasbro Game Channel, we want to capture all of the excitement and fun of Hasbro’s most popular games and bring new ways to play them. The new console experience will offer a brand new ecosystem with various missions, achievements and rewards” said Ubisoft in a statement.

The partnering companies plan to bring more board gaming favourites to the channel next year.

Gamers still on PS3 and Xbox 360 won’t be getting access to the Hasbro Game Channel but will be able to download games individually.

As yet there is no word from Ubisoft regarding pricing.

Previously EA has released a number of Hasbro game packages, although their last offering Hasbro Family Game Night 4: The Game Show received a fairly poor critical response.
