All the latest summer transfer news from La Liga...

The big news from La Liga today is that Barcelona are set to make another signing. New manager Luis Enrique has already signed goalkeepers Marc-Andre Ter Stegen and Claudio Bravo, centre back Jeremy Mathieu, midfielder Ivan Rakitic and forward Luis Suarez, but another centre back had to be on the agenda after the departure of captain Carles Puyol.

Whilst Paris Saint-Germain's Marquinhos and Liverpool's Daniel Agger had been strongly linked with moves to the Camp Nou, but it's Arsenal's Thomas Vermaelen who is poised for a switch to Catalunya. The Belgian has to pass a medical yet, but a £15m fee has been agreed between the two sides despite interest from Manchester United.

One La Liga player who had been linked with a move to Arsenal was Atletico Madrid's Josuha Guilavogui. However, the Gunners have missed out as Wolfsburg have landed the Frenchman on a season-long loan deal, and the club have been praising his arrival.

"We are delighted to strengthen our squad with a young player, with great potential," said sporting director Klaus Allofs. "Josuha Guilavogui already has international experience and will play his part in helping the team move forward and make progress."

"He is a midfielder who is used mainly in the defensive area," manager Dieter Hecking added. I’m convinced Josuha Guilavogui will fit in well and help the team."

Elsewhere, Deportivo La Coruna are trying to strengthen their squad ahead of the new season, and had lined up a loan move for new Manchester City signing Bruno Zuculini - but with Javi Garcia set for a move away to Zenit St. Petersburg, manager Manuel Pellegrini wants to keep the Argentine at the Etihad Stadium, leaving Depor boss Victor Fernandez disappointed.

"He was a player with an important following, a player we were interested in, but his club have the right to decide his future and we must continue on our own path, looking at other players. It’s frustrated us somewhat, but there are other options in the market."
