Arsenal duo Mesut Ozil and Lukas Podolski take to social networking site Twitter to have their say on taking on Besiktas in the Champions League playoff round.

Arsenal have featured in the group stage of the Champions League in each of the past 16 seasons and they will be determined to maintain that streak.

However, it will not be easy for the Gunners this time as they face Turkish giants Besiktas in the playoff round.

The Istanbul outfit have a strong squad that includes former Newcastle United and Chelsea striker Demba Ba. The Senegal international scored a hat-trick in the second leg of Besiktas’s victory over Feyenoord in their third-round qualifier.

Besiktas won that match 3-1 at home to wrap up the tie 5-2 on aggregate to progress to the final round before they can book their place in the group stage of Europe’s premier club competition.

Lukas Podolski is wary of how tough it will be to beat the former Turkish champions and posted the following picture on Instagram with the message: ‘Tough draw for the Champions League Qualification: It's Besiktas! Looking forward to meeting my Cologne friend Gokhan.....’

Podolski, who won the 2014 World Cup with Germany earlier this summer, has yet to return to pre-season training for Arsenal.

The former Bayern Munich star’s club and international teammate Mesut Ozil, who played a key role in Germany’s triumph in Brazil, also had his say on the Champions League draw, while French striker Yaya Sanogo simply asked the team's fans a question.

Arsenal will be favourites to win the tie, especially as the second leg will be played at the Emirates Stadium.

Last season the North London outfit defeated Fenerbahce 5-0 over two legs in the playoff round to book their place in the group stage of the Champions League.
